Editorial Design & Workflow Specialist

Roxen develops software for automated print and publishing workflows used by newsrooms and media groups around the world. Our platform helps publishers streamline the production of newspapers, magazines and e-papers while maintaining editorial control, design flexibility and efficient day-to-day workflows. Our customers range from regional newspaper groups to large international media organizations operating complex multi-edition and multi-channel publishing environments. We are now looking for an Editorial Design & Workflow Specialist with newsroom and InDesign experience to support customer projects across the Americas.
About the role
As Editorial Design & Workflow Specialist at Roxen, you will play an important role in helping our customers in the Americas develop more efficient workflows for their print titles.
Working closely with customers, project managers and product specialists, you will help design and implement template structures, workflows and production processes adapted to each customer’s needs and publishing environment.
The role combines editorial understanding, visual design and workflow development. You will work with both operational and creative aspects of newsroom production - from analyzing production flows and identifying opportunities for automation to developing InDesign templates and supporting newsroom teams during implementation and go-live.
Responsibilities
Analyze customer workflows and identify opportunities for more efficient and automated print production processes
Develop and adapt InDesign templates for newspapers, magazines and e-papers
Support the implementation of editorial workflows and template structures in customer environments
Work closely with editors, designers and production teams to establish efficient working methods
Test and quality-assure workflows and templates in production environments
Support customer onboarding, training and go-live activities
Develop training materials and lead customer workshops and training sessions
Contribute customer insights and workflow feedback to Roxen’s product development
Who you are
We believe you have:
Experience working in newsroom, publishing or editorial production environments
Strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign and several years of experience developing templates for editorial production
Experience working with editorial systems, publishing platforms or workflow-oriented production tools
A good understanding of how editorial, design and production teams work together in daily operations
The ability to combine visual quality with practical and efficient workflow thinking
Professional-level English communication skills; Spanish is a plus
You may come from a publisher, media company or technology provider. What matters most is that you understand publishing environments and enjoy working closely with both people and systems.
You enjoy taking ownership, working closely with customers and collaborating with colleagues across teams and time zones. You combine structure, technical curiosity and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
You are also a clear communicator who can translate operational needs into practical, user-friendly and visually consistent solutions.
